Yellowstone Day 4
This is a lovely photo of Dane fly-fishing. Some random guy we were camped by happened to be at the river taking pictures while Dane was fishing. They bonded, and he gave Dane some new flies and sent him this picture. Dane is looking WAY good in those waders!
This picture was taken in the town of Mammoth. This HUGE elk just hangs out on the back lawn of the workers quarters. He had a harem of cows that he was watching over. Seriously, do they get any cuter than this? My kids -- looking as darling as they can, in their new Yellowstone sweatshirts. This picture was taken on a small hike to another waterfall.
This is one of the highlights of our trip, watching a black bear eating an elk carcass. We happened to be driving down the road at the exact time this bear came running (sprinting) out from the trees. He headed across this field, right to the elk carcass. We spent hours there watching him with the carcass. A little further down is a family of wolves anxiously waiting for him to finish. It was one of the most awesome things I have ever seen.
